I am lucky to have always lived in the same city as my grandmother; however, eleven of her grandchildren live in countries around the world, from the US to the Middle East to Australia. My mother and I enjoy helping my grandmother connect with her out-of-town grandchildren by setting her up with Skype and FaceTime calls on our phones.
Many Seniors do not have the fortune of living near their families nor do they have access to easy-to-use technology to connect with their families. The use of technology as a means to connect has become even more important with the restrictions put in place in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our Ride to Connect 2020 ride will give numerous Seniors access to user-friendly tablets which will allow them to connect to friends and family. We hope that together we can reduce the social isolation that is so pervasive in our Senior community.
